Working with Our Community - July Happy Hour and Fundraiser
On Wednesday, July 23rd, Cimarron Winter hosted a social and fundraising event at our Minneapolis headquarters. We’re excited to announce that we raised about $4,000 for Gender Justice to help advance gender equity through the law. Thank you to Gender Justice, attendees, supporters, and all who helped make the event such a success.
Each year, Cimarron Winter picks a few different nonprofit organizations to support both through donations and social events. We are proud of the work that we do to help foster community, support initiatives that help improve people’s quality of life, and tackle complex social issues.
For our mid-year event, we invited Gender Justice to come speak about the work they are doing to support gender equity in Minnesota and why it is an important cause.
At the event, Gender Justice Executive Director, Megan Peterson spoke on the landscape of gender equity in the law. She shared some of the hard work their team has been doing in 2025 and answered questions on what we might see for the rest of the year as well as how we can get involved.
We had a great night that included productive discussions on the work of Gender Justice, socializing with colleagues and friends, and delicious drinks and food.
About Gender Justice
Gender Justice’s mission is to advance gender equity through the law. They work to help dismantle legal, structural, and cultural barriers that contribute to gender inequity. The goal is to ensure that people of all genders have a meaningful right to bodily autonomy, safety, health, and opportunity. Some of their recent strategic initiatives have included a focus on freedom from gender-based violence, economic justice, and LGBTQ safety.
